Program overview

Get ready to level up with our TEFL and teaching English apprenticeship in Cambodia. After acing your training, you’ll complete a three-month work placement, applying your skills in real classroom settings.

Your main role will involve assisting class teachers and providing enrichment activities that support the class. While leading classes independently isn’t required, there are plenty of opportunities for you to fulfil TEFL course requirements, including shared leading and stepping in when needed. If you’ve got teaching experience, you might even get to model some lessons, aiding teacher development and ensuring sustainable long-term impact. Flexibility is key, as days are busy, and schedules may change based on community activities. You might also contribute to additional projects, such as women’s empowerment and education.

Beyond the basics, our training covers a mix of impact and ethics, project management, communication, team leadership, safety management, participant management and self leadership and well-being.

This is a great opportunity to get a head start in the job hunt with our preferential recruitment, a game-changing work placement and a guaranteed job offer. This apprenticeship not only makes an impact but also equips you with skills that stand out in the professional landscape.

On this program you’ll directly contribute to a number of United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, including Goal1: No Poverty, Goal 4: Quality Education and Goal10: Reduced Inequality.

Experience the vibes of Siem Reap during your downtime. Our community hub is located at a guesthouse right in the heart of Siem Reap city centre, a quick 5-minute walk from both Siem Reap Old Market and Pub Street, giving you the perfect launchpad for your cultural adventure in this vibrant Cambodian city.

Please note that only participants completing the Teaching English to Cambodian Buddhist Monks volunteer program can be guaranteed to work with monks.
